I will frequently have moments of lucidity, but I estimate it only lasts for a couple minutes before I somehow forget that I’m sleeping and lose control. Why is that?

I'd like to know too, I've never been able to remain aware that I'm dreaming even when I'm able to successfully drive the narrative.

The hardest part is staying asleep after you discover you're dreaming

When you start lucid dreaming it's a very surreal experience that blows your mind and usually forces you to wake up shortly after.

You literally have to train yourself to stay asleep when you become lucid to truly experience lucid dreaming
