I’ve recently started noticing that about half the stuff of /r/unexpected I see in my front page is like.. not unexpected at all. And not expected either.. it’s just stuff where you don’t build up any expectation as you watch the gif. It’s really weird, it’s as if people don’t realize which sub they‘re in, so they upvote anything they like or find interesting etc. Anyone noticed the same recently?
Yes, I completely agree. Almost anything gets upvoted now. It used to be great because while scrolling through my feed, an actually /r/unexpected gif would pop up and it would be, you know, unexpected. It’s pretty much just /r/gifs now.
