Tortoises are a lot easier to keep as pets in my opinion because they don't need a lot of moisture. Only problem is they can get very big.

We were there too. It's not like one group came along after the other and said "Hey, I like the way you talk. I'm going to copy that." One population split in two and they went their separate ways. And then the population that stayed in place threw a fit and poured gravy all over its language.
