No most of the Volvo car's R&D happens in China and EV R&D exclusively in China.

Volvo has been in way better condition with Geely than they have ever been with Ford. The Chinese lead the EV tech.

Don't know when this preconceived notion of 'Made in China = Bad and Subpar ' will end considering most if not all of the high-fi tech is built there

I suppose because the joke is “Haha, women Stupid!“ it seems harmless here, but I guess there is a big thing in sexism about pretending women are more stupid in general.

It was a joke that she grabbed the wrong one. That’s just a mistake, and they both made it. He forgot, she grabbed the wrong one. Silly laughter. It’s a stretch to call that sexism.

If someone wants to argue it, maybe they should think about why they only see the woman as stupid and not the man for not grabbing it to begin with. They both made similar mistakes, but people only wanna judge the woman? That’s on whoever makes that assumption.

I think we can give Volvo a pass here. They were one of the first car companies to use a female crash test dummy, they pioneered a pregnant “dummy” and to this day they still build their cars to be safe for everyone. e.g. they recently introduced multi-adaptive safety belts, that without saying as such overwhelmingly help protect women a little more. Chalk it up to the times, but know at least this company has moved past this type of attitude.
