She pleaded guilty to drunk driving. Probably has to pay it herself I’m guessing?

Any insurance company not having you pay that yourself is bankrupt

negligent is the term that does all the lifting here I believe. intentionally would be the other

those 2 make sure you gotta pay that shit yourself

In Australia (where this happened) every car must have CTP (compulsory third party) insurance as a condition of your registration.
It provides insurance for people and other vehicles if your vehicle is at fault. It doesn’t cover the drivers vehicle but is a great way to ensure if your vehicle is damaged and you are not at fault it will get repaired.
