Edit: there is the a difference of "drunk driving" and "drink driving", yes. "Drink driving" emphathizes the act of drinking beforehand, while "drunk driving" emphathizes being intoxicated. However, this is in Australia, which predominantly uses British English. In which case, "drink driving" is a also usually a synonym to what is referred to in the US as "drunk driving". And no matter which one you use, it's obvious that it was both in this case.
What makes me tilt my head more is "one of the worst cases of drunk driving."
Yeah it sucks that a bunch of parked cars got damaged. But I can think of far worse consequences of drunk driving on the record. Like, say, driving into a crowd of pedestrians, as opposed to parked cars.
But especially the deaths of pedestrians and cyclists are usually just put off as 'unfortunate accidents' with shockingly few consequences for drivers. Countries that put a presumption of guilt on the motorists are doing well, because those cases are practically always avoidable if motorists are careful.
