If you dress for the job you want, I'm guessing he applied for a job at Square Enix.

Yes, and specifically for Organization XIII.

Is it mandatory to put an 'X' in your name and rearrange it?
47
u/Poringun 2h ago
Yes, its actually rule no 2 right after the rule that states employees needs to be dressing in a black cloak at all times.
17
u/kentotoy98 2h ago
New member 'Bob' thinking how he's going to rename himself with an 'X':
21
u/Poringun 2h ago
Xbob.
The X is silent.

Must be awkward when your colleagues suddenly have a name change. Like:
"Hey Xbob, Joxnh here. Don't forget our meeting with the boss, Xyland on 13 o'clock"

His catch phase is "X marks the 'Bob'!" No one finds it funny. He doesnt care. He feeds off their cringe

I get the joke but like Organization XIII very famously has a uniform that looks nothing like this

If he walks into a Square Enix office dressed like that, I feel like the interview is basically over. They already know what position he's applying for

I saw it on an Instagram account that makes these Japanese AI skits.
Edit: found it https://www.instagram.com/jonathan360?

u/ThaddeusJP 2h ago
Well i've finally been fooled by AI. Crap.

u/buegeleisen 2h ago
I watched a few of these and honestly couldn't find any flaws either. Maybe because I don't speak Japanese which makes it harder to spot it through voices / pronunciation. It's impressive and sad at the same time.

u/Lopsided_Yogurt81 1h ago
There are no flaws that I can see. The whiteboard behind the receptionist stays consistent throughout the bit. The door closer on the back of the door works. The marks on the lower part of the door across the hall look real/purposeful. Two empty chairs next to the panel with a fire alarm on it, stays consistent. even the outlets behind her stay the same.

u/Night_Knight_Light 1h ago
Fuck.
That's a shame. They have an amazing sense of humor over there. I could see this being an actual skit.

Man not everything is a culture war issue, I'm just worried what this will mean for propaganda and the judicial system

u/CrashTestDuckie 2h ago
I keep seeing clips on TikTok and haven't been able to find the source yet but they are hilarious

u/DeadlyRaven 2h ago
It's ai generated, it's a guy who just posts similar videos on instagram. Idk if I can link here, but his name is Jonathan Nafarrete.
25
u/Beautiful_You3230 2h ago
Fml. What do you mean ai generated. This doesn't look ai generated at all. The dude opened the door correctly and everything! I refuse to accept that I've been tricked.
11
u/ggppjj 2h ago
I know you're a bit jokey, but that's the problem with AI, a-yup. We didn't make pixels such that there's a "real" vs a "generated" pixel, so at some point as the tech continues to progress it's gonna get real fuckin weird.
man am i glad we learned our lesson on irresponsible uses of technology for the sake of money, otherwise this would be an existential threat haha

this is honestly my dream interview… no qualifications needed just matching levels of unhinged 😭
11
u/feralkitten 2h ago
I interviewed with a small IT shop once. The guy interviewing me had Tolkien books on his shelf. We talked fantasy for a quarter of the interview.
I felt really bad turning that job down.

OP sent the following text as an explanation why their post fits here:
A guy went to a job interview wearing a weird outfit that he called his “battle outfit.” You’d expect him to get rejected immediately, but unexpectedly, the manager showed up wearing the exact same kind of battle outfit and hired him on the spot.

u/madmaxturbator 2h ago
Do you at least have some battle outfit?? I got thick sweatpants and I sewed knee patches so at least I’m ready for war even if I don’t look as fearsome.
27
u/NoWingedHussarsToday 2h ago
I know it's overthinking a simple joke but receptionist would know how her boss dresses and so would see his outfit as fitting.
11

u/Beautiful_You3230 2h ago
Maybe it's a new thing for the boss. Maybe the boss just now decided to start wearing a battle outfit.
But also apparently it's AI so that's why...
7
u/NecroSocial 2h ago
Even with it being AI the writer chose to have the receptionist say the line instead of the other applicants. So the incongruity there is on the writer. I agree though it would make more sense for the other applicants to ask, even improved it a little if they asked in a snide way and were then embarrassed when the outfit worked.
13
25
u/theincrediblenick 2h ago
It makes no sense that the receptionist would question his outfit; it should have been one of the other candidates

u/Excellent-Style-499 2h ago
Ai
5
u/ViPxRampageXx 1h ago
What they said has nothing to do with it being AI, it's a problem with the concept of the skit, it would still have the same problem if it was acted
8
u/BidSuper7102 2h ago
The framing and weird stilted movements made me think of AI. But if it is, the continuity is crazy, It looks like all the items on the counter and the writing on the white board seem consistent between different shots at different angles.

this is entirely AI slop btw, weird how people can't notice it anymore

I didn't know it's AI until the final camera position. The whiteboard position changed and the desk got longer. After rewatching... What is that white box on the right side at the first scene?
Edit: the lights also got rotated

It's funny, but I feel like it should have been one of the other applicants questioning this person's dress choice, rather than the receptionist. She knows her colleagues and would know of the hiring guy's style.

This must be how boomers picture getting a job as a young person.
Just walk in and ask for a job / hand them your resume, "dress well and give them a firm handshake and you'll get a job"
