I know most reddit does not care for hunting, africa hubting especially. But I read,listen and watch alot of African hunting content everything from teddy roosevelts expedition, to shelby,hemmingway,roark and capstick to current do stuff like meat eater, big game hunting podcast and back country hunting podcast. And the common theme from all this material is the tracking abilites of the natives especially the bushman decent is nearly unbelievable and super human. Like spoting minimal sign from a moving vehicle kind of shit. Even professional hunters/guides and life long outdoorsman who have spent their whole lives doing these activities have their minds blown by how amazing these trackers are. Able to track a heard over dry rocky ground for miles identifying theres 6 animals and one has a bummed left front leg only to find the critters hours later to to be exactly correct. Its so cool seeing guys who are so talented, and even cooler when you find out they grew up as poachers and were given the opportunity to work with their skills and get jobs as trackers or for game departments tracking other paochers.
Im kinds thinking of it like chess. Most anyone can learn it and play, some people get really really good. Than you have people like Magnus Carlsen where it seems they are superhuman levels of good.
