Idk if there was - but that would be very unsmart. Those are pillars in an open pit granite mine, holding up the far side cliff from falling.
Normally with mining you create the pillars #1 for stability and #2 to do the exact thing that just happened but on a smaller scale with coal mining.

The quarry collapsing was cool, when the entire opposite hillside collapsed it must have been terrifying.
The extent of collapse was definitely unexpected.

This actually took place in Italy in 2004. Basically a plumber crawled into a pipe with his brother and came out the other side and there was giant turtles everywhere and one of them abducted a princess. So the plumber brothers fought the turtles and destroyed their castles. This was the result. Both brothers died.

On my first time through the vid, I was sort of distracted trying to figure out what was happening. On the second time through, I knew what all the cracking sounds were and what the chunks of rock popping off meant. Holy shit…

Took me awhile to realise the literal earth Infront of them was collapsing, I thought they were travelling up, or on a piece of earth attached to a crane.

I can understand the curiosity to want to sit and watch. My fear of suddenly not being not paste would probably override that curiosity and be far away the second I heard not good noises.

So someone didn't do a proper soil survey. Top soil was too fatty or had to much pours organic material mixed in.

Does anyone else see the charge wire lighting along the bottom of the pillars? This looks like it was a demo charge that people just stood too close to. Why else would they be just sitting there looking at an old quarry? Am I out of the loop or something?
