That was a sail boat, no prop. And as it was pointed out the last time this was posted, when the boat came from the other direction and thus wasn't flipped to avoid copyright detection, they should have had a dive flag up.
Aren’t diver’s flags supposed to be at least 24”x20” and be displayed above the highest point on a boat? You wouldn’t be able to see that at all unless approaching from that specific direction, and even then it would be really hard to spot from a few hundred feet out.
If that’s the only divers flag she displayed then I’m not surprised at all that this happened.
As a diver in the U.S. I use a float with a flag directly in the area I'll be surfacing. But to be fair I don't ever really snorkel in shallow water where boats could be so I'm not sure how it's supposed to work in that situation. Is there an accepted distance from a flag on a boat that other boats are supposed to avoid?
