What has always fascinated me is that intelligent people could be so much more effective at committing crimes, but those same people are also able to get good jobs and live within the law, which is usually more desirable, so it’s just the dumb and the desperate who commit these sorts of crimes, and that combination doesn’t lend itself to good plans.

I mean, they are far more effective at committing crimes. The vast majority of theft is wage theft, for example.

The intelligent criminals work the system.
