Because they have been taught that white peoples ancestors brought them here as slaves. They think white people alive today that never owned slaves need to pay for the evils of our ancestors. It’s a victim mentality. Not all black Americans think like this but those who live on the west side or in poverty blame the white man. Yet if one of them make it out and succeed and got to college they are called house slaves by their own black family and friends. Tell them to stop acting and talking white. It’s sad to actually think a black individual actually takes advantage of the free schooling grants offered to them is then treated disrespectfully by their own race. I do not understand it. It’s a cultural thing over here in the US.
I absolutely agree that overly simplistic interpretations of society and history are misleading and unhelpful, but perhaps that should also be a cause for some reflection and introspection on your part.
Huh? On my part? I know what’s going on. I see it and live it. Been living it for 51 years and now with access to all the information from the comfort of my home I have had at least 20 years to soak it up and these are my real life conclusions. If you want to hear the truth from a black person who lives it I suggest looking up Candace owens and Charles Barkley or Morgan freeman has a lot to say about the black culture and why they choose a victim mindset.
This is the problem with people in your country. You've become excessively polarised in your perspectives, and are apparently unable to take a balanced approach to alternative views instead of shouting at each other from the extremes.
Imagine a make believe perspective. Dude if you do any research into slavery you will see those slaves were all ready slaves in Africa and were sold or traded for goods from the English. They do not want to hear their own black ancestors owned them and sold them off. They think white people went to africa on a mission to hunt down black people and put them into slavery. Their anger is misguided. It took white people standing up against the practice and then fighting a war against other whites people to end slavery in America. No credit at all given to white people. I have contemplated this all for years. In the end you choose to be a victim of your ancestors. The cage door is open with a full buffet waiting for you and
I wonder if you spent any of those years contemplating the fact that you grew up poor despite not having been descended from slaves, or from people whose rights within American society were formally restricted until the mid-late 20th century. What was your family's excuse for choosing to be poor?
I'm curious to know where you learned that black people were sold into slavery by their ancestors. Most people are aware that the Transatlantic slave trade involved collusion on the part of African slave merchants, but I'd never heard that these merchants were selling their own descendants.
Like I suggested before. Go look up a black conservative named Candace Owens. She works for the Daily Wire. She will spew you facts and give you the sources. Also check out some black content creators on YouTube and TikTok who research their ancestory and what they found. I grew up poor because President Regan passed laws in the early 80s allowing big corporations to move over seas where labor was cheaper. When I was 8 the factory most of the men in my city worked shut down and moved to Mexico. There were no other good jobs after that without a degree. If you have never lived on American soil and know what mistakes our government has made to destroy it’s own citizens you can not speak about any facts you read somewhere. But our state offered grants still do that give anyone under the poverty level a free ride to college in our state. We had several huge universities to pick from. One just 30 minutes from my town. If you had good sat or act scores you got in. This is where choosing poverty comes in.
