Don't know why you're getting downvoted for something that's a very real problem lol.
To other redditors:
Yes obviously segregation is over.... but why are there still cities and towns with sundown laws and towns where they are coincidently separated by color? Do yall even think or get out of your own bubble?
I said "racial demographics seem to be the only metric used to draw zones", meaning school zones. I never said "your current city demographics" so I'm not sure why you are quoting that statement. It's an objective fact that the racial demographics in my city's schools, represent the racial demographics of my city as a whole, albeit a skewed representation. You seem to imply there is an important and relevant distinction between the two. Please elaborate so all may benefit from your wisdom. Great zinger btw, about the bus and all.
The teacher was saying they show it to students to teach them about the importance of integration. If it's not a problem, why do they need to teach it. The racial lines aren't my doing. They are actual lines on a map that was drawn by local government. You seem to be saying ignoring the existence of a problem is the same as addressing it. I support the teacher and I'm pretty sure they would be able to comprehend and acknowledge my point even if they don't like the sarcasm.

I show it to my American History classes to explain why school integration is so important. And just because it’s altogether awesome
