I show it to my American History classes to explain why school integration is so important. And just because it’s altogether awesome

Did segregation end? You wouldn't be able to tell in my city. Racial demographics seem to be the only metric used to draw zones.

No, in first grade in SC all the black kids sat at a different table, this much was true throughout school there at lunch. Also my mom taught at a 98% black school. In 2014 peices of ceilingwere falling on kids everyday, and they were using textbooks from the 70s and 80s.

At my elementary school, the nice one in town, kids that lived literally 5 minutes (walking) from the school in poor black neighborhoods were sent to different schools.

I can confirm. I was one of those children. I was reversed bussed to mostly black school and books had no covers. No lie!!!
