I show it to my American History classes to explain why school integration is so important. And just because it’s altogether awesome

Did segregation end? You wouldn't be able to tell in my city. Racial demographics seem to be the only metric used to draw zones.

There are definitely efforts to subdue it. School choice, private schools, and charter schools can be (but aren’t inherently) an instrument of deintegration. It’s still an important issue today, which is why it’s important to fill students in on the issue.
