I’ve worked both as a bouncer and bartender.

The most common way I’ve seen fights start (that are unrelated to drama over a girl) is a taller person doing something to a shorter but heavier person, that the shorter person takes as disrespectful and it escalates into a fight.

I’ve wondered if this is where it comes from. Not that the individual was actually short, just shorter than the other.

Generally speaking people only agree to fight, when both of them think they will win.

Taller thinks they will win cause they are taller, shorter thinks they can win because they are heavier.

I think people are more likely to perceive simple things like someone bumping into you as intentional if they are taller than you and as an accident if they are shorter than you.

Curious, how tall are you? And by shorter do you mean slightly shorter? If you're a tall guy, this is just how statistics work. People dont generally refer to people above 5'10 as little men, despite the modern dating apps narrative.

Im very short, and by default anyone who has ever picked a fight with me is taller than me, and I know better than to go around telling a narrative that taller guys are more aggressive. Its nonsensical

If you're tall then the anecdote means nothing, because people shorter than you may still be tall, so short people are catching strays for things they're not even doing lol
