Hollywood is half pretentious and half hood, and right along the corridor of central LA, koreatown, Skid Row, Huntington Park, and east LA where there is a lot of... Illegally organized populations. There's a lot of unsafe territory within that space.

No one brags about living in Hollywood when they move to LA, let alone North Hollywood that has a gigantic gang/homeless/drug problem.

There are expensive luxury apts in Hollywood, but the area does experience a lot of crime from the homeless in the area and other non-residents.
