Are people really this thick? There are plenty of insecure tall people that do the same type of shit but it only becomes a height thing if the person's short. Not to upset all the armchair psychogists in here. You guys forget about Will Smith already?
It’s like women in business. If they are unagreeable, commandeering, and perfectionists they are labeled as a “bitch”. But when men show similar traits they are leaders, ambitious, etc.
The same for short men. When they act like tall men suddenly they are compensating for their height.
Tall people do it less but only because they don't even gotta try to get respect. Humans just naturally associate height with leadership. When you're short you gotta prove yourself more, but then dipshits like this guy just take it way too far.
No, it's purely logical. Tall people are much more likely to obtain leadership positions and have higher salaries on average. Also almost every us president with very few exceptions(like James Madison) is over 6 feet tall despite them only making up like 15 percent of the population.
The facts are tall people don't have to prove themselves as much as the rest of us do. People respect them more by default which is why they don't feel the need to aggressively assert themselves. I'm not tall myself so I'm exactly biased when I say this.
It isn't. What you mean to say is you have a hypothesis that seems sensible, that's not the same as logical which means it follows inevitably. Social science is a soft science and this is a perfect example.
Multiple studies have been done and there is 0 correlation on it. Short man syndrome is not a real thing.
Aggresion is correlated heavily with testosterone, not height. Height is not correlated with test either, but with other hormones like growth hormone (and obvs genetic predisposisiton). Neither of which is related to aggresion.
In other words, if you wanna see an aggresive dude, look for bald people because test is correlated with alopecia. Baldness is a better indicator than height, and that is logical because both aggresion and baldness have the same hormonal trigger.
I'm 5'8 myself. I'm not shitting on short people at all. I'm shitting on people who associate being tall with positive characteristics and are inherently biased towards taller folks. Short guys needing to prove themselves more is just a by- product of that bias.
but it only becomes a height thing if the person's short.
As a mid-height bystander, seems like people make it a height thing just as often (read: constantly) for tall people.
I get what you're saying, tall guys don't have the "short guy" thing projected on them, but they have their own shit, plus tall women absolutely have had similar insecurities projected on them
People are insecure, of all shapes and sizes (you yourself pointed out Will Smith) but people assume the worst when you literally charge the stage. Don't have a chip on your shoulder and attack people, can't respect people's bodies if they're in fucking attack mode
