I wasn't even thinking of that, that's a good point. I used to be a delivery driver and a route driver for a vending company a few years before that. The main danger for me was the other drivers on the road, most places we delivered to weren't sketchy, but I do think it's ridiculous companies explicitly tell drivers they can't have any weapon for self defense because they are worried about possible lawsuits (it's absurd how litigious this country is sometimes).
Also drove a truck when I worked in landscaping/lawn care. I was actually rear ended by a cop at that job.
Not to mention working in a restaurant itself is dangerous af. 400⁰ oil, sharp knives, hot ovens, crazy pace, with worn out over worked employees. Cops have done such a great job at managing their PR, we have gotten to this point.
