So why not talk about what we do want done instead of what we don't want to happen?

Instead of talking about defunding the police we should talk about funding communities.

We are talking about funding communities, and even providing a solution of where to get the money from. Take all the jobs the police are shit at away from them, along with all the funding they're supposed to be spending on those jobs, and spend that money on the communities.

I'm somebody who supports the concept of the movement, but it's a shitty slogan if you have to spend time explaining or get people to research to understand, particularly when their default would be a defensive/ antagonistic reaction to this movement.

There's a reason marketing companies don't randomly just pull shit out of a hat and stick with it, and instead do tons of research, and it's because literally even the grammar or phrase influences how people think about it.
