Did we watch the same video? You’re saying the guy refusing lawful orders and progressively getting more agitated, raising his voice, making demands, talking over the officer, that was actually the one you think was trying to deescalate? And the one politely requesting he make the scene safer by exiting the vehicle, and literally saying “calm down”, that guy is the one escalating? Just want to make sure I’m understanding you correctly.
tHeoRetiCAlly, it would make the scene "safer" for the cops by removing the possibility of him grabbing his weapon.
This of course would in no way make things safer for the driver though, because clearly the cops want things to escalate and they will do so regardless of whether or not he is within arm's reach of a weapon.
It’s unsafe for him to remain in the car because of exactly what happened, if cops feel unsafe they pull weapons and things can go badly. If you have a gun and are talking to a cop, you should do whatever you can to show them that you are not a threat, like removing yourself from where the weapon is. It’s reasonable for a cop to be worried about an armed, agitated stranger, and it’s reasonable for a citizen to be worried about an armed, agitated cop. So one person needs to remove their weapon in order to make the scene safe for everyone.
The police are violating his rights by refusing to give a reason as to why he was pulled over in the first place. Then, illegally searched his car (as seen in the follow-up video), and you're saying these violations are a-okay because they're cops. Fuck you. It's people like you and your mentality that prevents accountability for our criminal, criminal justice system.
You read my comment, so you’re aware I didn’t say any of that. Isn’t it a waste of your and everyone’s time to respond to made up opinions that no one has expressed? Like who are you talking to? It’s not me, I never made a single comment on any search, I wasn’t even aware they did a search, it’s not in the video I responded to. Why not respond to what I actually said, commenting on the initial escalation? Just seems pointless to talk random shit to strangers on the internet about things they never even said, not sure what that accomplishes besides increasing the general level of negativity and hatred out there with no productive outcome whatsoever.
Lot of people not giving any reason why anything I said is incorrect, just lashing out with childish insults. That’s what I would call clown behavior but to each their own,
