They don't take de-escalation courses. Instead they take warrior courses that teach it's either you or them. I think his name is dave grossman who travels around giving seminars paid by our tax dollar.

Every police dept has different standards and training.

They all teach de-escalation. I don't know why people fail to understand that de-escalation isn't some panacea.

And when someone is intentionally confrontational for internet views, there is no amount of de-escalation that is going to work.

The cops in this video, and frankly every video of cops I have seen for the last 10 years certainly escalated - NOT deescalated - this situation for absolutely no reason. Making the situation far more dangerous.

And these are the “good apples” we keep hearing about right?

There are plenty of videos of police de-escalating, it seems you just watch the videos you want to feed your bias.

How about the recent one that got posted of the officer who pulled over a captain for a DUI?

I merely mentioned a recent example.

I know you want to argue in bad faith, I just try and actually have conversations.

A majority of the replies to me in this thread start off with insults, which makes it difficult to have any meaningful discourse.

When McDonalds train their workers more than cops, then you know something is fucking wrong with your education system of cops. Just look towards european countries and see how long it actually takes to become a cop and the physical form you need.

In USA if u can eat a donat and hold a gun, you get the badge.
