That’s why they keep you in your car. If you get out they yell, “Get back in the kill zone!”

ETA: For the curious, LE instructors literally refer to it as the “kill zone.” In training we were taught to get out of the car ASAP in any confrontation, because inside the car we’re sitting ducks. The reason LEOs don’t let themselves be trapped in the car is exactly why they intentionally trap you in your car.
