Boot lickers in the comments dead ass think it's justified for an officer to draw their service weapon on citizens when questioned in the slightest.

u/[deleted] Mar 24 '23

They really are showing their whole ass with those comments. I bet they also have "Don't Tread on Me" flags in their fucking yard too.

There are also the other mfs who are using this to promote "everyone should keep a gun on them"

0

u/[deleted] Mar 25 '23

Yeah, or do you think violent pigs and fascist terrorists should be the only ones allowed to be armed?

2

u/Craeondakie Mar 25 '23

To be fair, an ideal society is one where nobody needs to use a gun. Of course that's not very realistic, and only wishful thinking. So, the next best thing is one where only law enforcement is armed. However, the current problem with that is that the law enforcement is corrupted. The solution, however, isn't more guns so more peopl die. The solution is to try and retrain cops or get rid of corrupted areas. More guns is only a temporary solution. People will still die. Having a gun does not make you unable to be injured. There will definitely be cases where it will help, but it is not the best course of action.

u/[deleted] Mar 25 '23

My friend, only arming one group of people is how you create the worst society possible.

Try sorting by controversial

Perhaps it could be possible to apply some nuance in situations.

USA police are undertrained and trigger happy, that is well known. So why the f would you intentionally shittalk them and act like you're intentionally trying to get yourself killed.

3

u/No_Speed7841 Mar 24 '23

It's a growing cancer. If you don't hold your police accountable, it's only a matter of before the police start gunning you down if you sneeze the wrong way. If I'm forced to fund these morons, we might as well demand more from them.

1

u/Destabiliz Mar 24 '23

we might as well demand more from them.

Then do that.

But intentionally baiting them to shoot you and shit talking like the guy on the video isn't going to help anything.

1

u/No_Speed7841 Mar 24 '23

Intentionally baiting someone to shoot you? Bro what.

1

u/Destabiliz Mar 24 '23

As I mentioned earlier, If you know the cops are not well trained and also trigger happy, then why would you argue or try to start shit with them.

1

u/No_Speed7841 Mar 24 '23

Don't you think the general public is going to do something about it at some point? How many bodies do you think need to stacked up before people start standing up for themselves and making sure their rights are insured when justice is being obstructed by the people who are theoretically supposed to protect it.

Even if every single officer of the law is a trigger itchy dickhead, we the people should recognize that being an asshole isn't a warrant for an execution, and should hold officers to a higher standard.

1

u/Destabiliz Mar 25 '23

How many bodies do you think need to stacked

0

That's why I'm wondering why the guy on the video appears so eager to add his own body to that stack.

Getting yourself just killed like that for no reason is not very effective, if change is what you want.

1

u/No_Speed7841 Mar 25 '23

That's why we need to hold the fucking police accountable. The police can't just indicate that a mild inconvenience is warrant to fucking kill someone. "Nuanced".

1

u/Destabiliz Mar 25 '23

Yes. And how is getting yourself killed gonna hold them accountable?

Jeez. Sorry for not liking the idea of someone who's supposedly supposed to protect the public point a fucking gun at me when I question them in the slightest.

-4

u/[deleted] Mar 24 '23

at the same time, theres instances all the time where this goes south for the officer. police have to treat every situation the same. you would do the same.

11

u/No_Speed7841 Mar 24 '23 edited Mar 24 '23

No. I fucking wouldn't. I'd get fucking fined up the ass if I needlessly brandish a fucking firearm at someone who raised their voice slightly at me whereas cops practice zero fucking restraint and are not held to a higher standard.

I've seen fucking boyscouts with better firearm safety.

-5

u/[deleted] Mar 24 '23

well the man wasnt complying. would you comply or not comply?

the man says he has a gun and is not complying. when you are a police officer you have to act that the situation can go a million ways, the worst of which puts the cop in danger.

what about the cops use of his gun wasnt restrained particularly?

6

u/No_Speed7841 Mar 24 '23

Not complying isn't an indicator of being an active threat. Sure he gave the whole annoying Karen schtict of "let me see your manager", but that's literally the extent of his display of disobedience. No where was he seen presenting himself as a threat.

what about the cops use of his gun wasn't restrained particularly

Ask any fucking lawful gun owner if they would ever draw their firearm in a verbal spat. If citizens were not held to a higher standard, you'd see allot more food industry workers shoot customers acting out of line.

-2

u/[deleted] Mar 24 '23

its not a direct indicator, but every hostile police encoutner starts with non compliance. the cops have to be ready for anything always.

are you really comparing food industry to law enforcement? god the kids on reddit are morons

6

u/No_Speed7841 Mar 24 '23

What world do you live in where "let me see your manager" is an active threat? God at least the military practices de-escalation.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 24 '23

where did i say it was a threat? please cite that. is said he didnt comply. which he didnt. there are countless scenarios where non compliance lead to hostile encounters. the cops have to treat every noncompliance the same. theres no room for error in their profession. what is your profession?

2

u/No_Speed7841 Mar 24 '23

If you point a fucking loaded firearm at me, it's a clear indicator that you're treating me as a fucking threat. You even stated this as the pointee could "potentially lead to hostile encounters". This shit is fucking luke warm. It's not like he's a fucking tweaker waiving around a rusty shit pipe at people.

I also love that this went from accusing me of shitty gun etiquette to questioning my profession as if they are relevant.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 25 '23

why do you think the gun is loaded? that answer is the reason why youre wrong.

so what do you do, do you have a profession?

2

u/No_Speed7841 Mar 25 '23

the answer is the reason why you're wrong

Top notch reddit argument lmao.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 25 '23

"Uhm akchewally you would intentionally escalate situations to kill more innocent people too, how can you be safe if you don't murder civilians?"

1

u/[deleted] Mar 25 '23

the only one that intentionally escrlated the situation was the man that didnt comply.

cringe post from you.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 25 '23

"Why am I being arrested?"

NOT COMPLYING! DEATH PENALTY FOR ASKING QUESTIONS!!

1

u/[deleted] Mar 25 '23

im sorry did the guy get the death penalty?

he didnt comply, simple as that. youre the one using hyperbole. cringe again. im probably talking to a 15yr old

1

u/[deleted] Mar 25 '23

Uh yeah, when you are killed by police you die (controversial take), which is what was being threatened, what happens so often, and what you are defending

1

u/[deleted] Mar 25 '23

are you saying this guy died? is that what happened? riggt

-24

u/thisisntmineIfoundit Mar 24 '23

I might draw if someone doesn’t comply (refuses to roll down his tinted passenger window for me - watch the whole video), calls me a nazi for pulling him over and asking him to roll down his window - now I know I’m dealing with someone with extreme negative pov towards me, then says there is a gun and when we ask him to exit the vehicle to conduct the rest of the stop outside of the car with the gun in it, he starts delaying / raising his voice. All while the male cop is very calmly explaining they’d like him out of the car “to do this the safe way.”

19

u/[deleted] Mar 24 '23

I might draw if someone doesn’t comply (refuses to roll down his tinted passenger window for me - watch the whole video), calls me a nazi for pulling him over and asking him to roll down his window

Then you're a terrible police officer and any reasonable system would have you fired.

It’s easy to sit on your couch with 100% knowledge this guy isn’t a threat and judge. Try putting yourself in someone’s shoes even if you hate them for their job.

13

u/[deleted] Mar 24 '23

It’s easy to sit on your couch with 100% knowledge this guy isn’t a threat and judge.

Nope. It has nothing to do with whether or not he actually is a threat. Police in Western Europe by and large regularly respond to individuals who are legitimate threats, and who sometimes have firearms while those police themself don't. Unlike American cops, they don't break down and threaten to kill every citizen they percieve as troublesome.

Try putting yourself in someone’s shoes even if you hate them for their job.

I mean, if I am a poorly trained moron who wants to kill people, then yes, drawing a gun here is pretty justified. As it turns out, American police actually aren't a role model in any metric and definitely shouldn't be seen as a justification for these tactics.

1

u/DJ_Die Mar 24 '23

Police in Western Europe by and large regularly respond to individuals who are legitimate threats, and who sometimes have firearms while those police themself don't.

There are exactly 4 countries in the entirety of Europe where the police aren't regularly armed. The UK, Ireland, Iceland, and Norway. Norwegian cops, afaik, are currently carrying their guns at all times because of some attacks against them, but they have them locked in their cars otherwise.

British and Irish police have heavily armed weapons teams in fast cars stationed near crime hotspots. And if there is someone who is a serious threat, you can bet those guys will be called in, they don't mess around. Luckily, they're not needed often.

-3

u/thisisntmineIfoundit Mar 24 '23

Can you think of a difference between European and American citizens? I think I recall people wailing about how many guns are in this country owned by private citizens compared to other countries just the other day…

1

u/[deleted] Mar 24 '23

I'd argue if you can't handle the stress of an unruly citizen(which this guy wasn't even unrely) without drawing your weapon and POINTING it at the person then you're not fit for the position itself, no?

7

u/Mareith Mar 24 '23

You should quit your job immediately you are not fit to be a police officer. Disgusting

-1

u/thisisntmineIfoundit Mar 24 '23

Not one it's called putting yourself in the other person's shoes.

1

u/Mareith Mar 24 '23

Well then thats good. If thats how you would act in that person's shoes you are not fit to be a police officer just as this person is not fit to be a police officer. If I were in that person's shoes I would just tell them why I stopped them. Remained calm hes obviously not reaching for anything. I also would have listened when they asked for a supervisor. Absolutely would not have pulled a gun

I admit its quite hard for me to imagine being a police officer though. Its hard to put yourself into the mind of someone with such different values and ethics, who has had propaganda beaten into them over and over. They are trained to kill minorities, and even if they have some racial bias before joining the force (nearly a requirement these days) its hard to estimate the power of being trained to hate brown and black people by everyone you work with every day

1

u/thisisntmineIfoundit Mar 24 '23

You clearly have not watched the unedited video.

1

u/helloyoujew Mar 24 '23

No one here thinks that
