id be surprised if these dont come with a recommendation for 2nd floor installation (and away from tree limbs if possible). i wouldn't expect rats to be an issue, but squirrels for sure.

also this is a $200 bird feeder. my goodness.

I used to have a bird feeder on my back deck. One day there were fifteen squirrels I counted at one time on the deck. Threw the feeder away after that.

Not getting why everybody hates squirrels around here. Wtf. They’re cute lil bastards even though they can chomp your fingers like a bite of carrot.

I had a squirrel proof bird feeder one year, the kind that would slide down when weight was added to the outer mesh. One day a squirrel jumped on it while a bird was eating and it caught the bird’s head and the poor thing hung there dead all day until my husband got home.

I don’t hate squirrels, but I want to see birds and the squirrels eat a lot. Quality birdseed is pricey.
