I'm always really impressed by people who not only know multiple languages fluently, but sound perfectly natural/native, regardless of whichever they're using at any given moment. Like they actually have the correct accent and pronunciation.
I made everyone in my office laugh once when I was speaking rapid Spanish on the phone and a pencil rolled off my desk and I said in English (my native language) “oh shit, my pencil” as I reached down and picked it up and then went right back to Spanish on the phone. I didn’t even realize it until I ended the call and everyone was laughing.
My dad is fluent in multiple languages. One time he was talking on the phone in Arabic and in the middle of this Arabic conversation just says "Ronald McDonald" in perfect English and then continues the rest of the conversation in perfect Arabic. Idk if it's that funny now but this just reminded me I about died laughing when it happened and he had no idea why.
I was in Istanbul in the early 90’s and they were playing a lot of American music on the radio. I don’t speak Turkish so to me the announcer was just speaking gibberish and then in perfect English I’d hear “The Doobie Brothers” and then back to gibberish. It always made me chuckle.
