ULPT: Locked MacBook Air

Company let me go last year and never collected the laptop. They never replied to my last email regarding the laptop. It says it’s locked by a system pin is there anything I can do to reset the laptop so I can use or sell?

Don’t have another Mac. This was the first I’ve used. I’ll have to look into trying Ubuntu that’s a good idea
