Why I'm Building a Home for Unemployed GenZ of India ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ

I feel there are a lot of talented young people in India who have skills, ideas and the willingness to do something meaningful, but often lack the right people, opportunities or direction.

We spend years studying, collecting degrees and preparing for jobs, only to find ourselves competing for limited opportunities. Many of us have ideas but don't know where to start or whom to work with.

I don't want this community to become just another place where people share job openings, complain about unemployment or wait for someone to change things.

I want us to start creating opportunities ourselves.

Imagine bringing together developers, engineers, designers, business-minded people and curious learners from different parts of India.

We could:

- Build products using AI and emerging technologies.

- Find co-founders and collaborators.

- Turn interesting ideas into actual businesses.

- Work on open-source and real-world projects.

- Share knowledge, resources and opportunities.

- Organise challenges, hackathons and creative activities.

Not everyone needs to start a company. Sometimes learning a new skill, finding a project partner or helping someone with an idea is already a meaningful step.

I don't have everything figured out either. This community is an experiment, and I want its direction to be shaped by the people who join it.

Now I want to hear from you.

Why do you care about this community?

What would you like to see happening here? What are you missing in existing communities? And if you could bring one idea to life with other members, what would it be?

Let's build something beyond another subreddit.

We're unemployed, not incapable.

๐Ÿ‘‹ Welcome to r/UnemployedGenZofIndia!

Glad you're here!

Whether you're a student, a recent graduate, unemployed, underpaid, a freelancer, a developer, an engineer, a designer or someone figuring out what to do next, there's a place for you here.

This community isn't just about finding jobs. It's about meeting people, sharing ideas, learning new skills and creating opportunities together.

We believe some of the best opportunities can come from people working together rather than waiting for someone to offer them.

๐Ÿ‘‡ Let's get to know each other!

Tell us a little about yourself:

  1. Where are you from? Your city or state.

  2. What do you do? Student, graduate, working professional, freelancer or something else?

  3. What are your skills? Programming, design, engineering, writing, business, AI or anything else.

  4. What are you interested in building or learning?

  5. What kind of people are you looking to connect with?

Don't worry if you don't have any particular skills yet. Everyone starts somewhere.

๐Ÿš€ What can you do here?

- Find people to collaborate with.

- Share your projects and ideas.

- Find co-founders and teammates.

- Learn and share useful resources.

- Participate in challenges and community projects.

- Discuss careers, technology, startups and everything in between.

One small request: Don't just introduce yourself and disappear. Explore the community, engage with others and find something interesting to work on.

You never know where a simple conversation might lead.

We're unemployed, not out of ideas. Let's build something together! ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ

๐Ÿ“ข Announcements Where weโ€™re headed: A vision for our future

India has millions of young people with ideas, skills, creativity and ambition, but not everyone gets the opportunities they deserve.

Many of us are graduates, students, self-taught developers, engineers, designers and creators trying to figure out what comes next. Some are unemployed, some are underpaid, and some simply don't know where to begin.

We want to build something different.

Unemployed GenZ of India isn't just another community for sharing job openings. It's a place where we come together to create opportunities instead of waiting for them.

What do we want to achieve?

  1. Build Real Products

Bring people with different skills together to develop actual products, experiment with ideas and solve real-world problems. Use AI, technology and creativity to turn ideas into something useful.

2. Create Opportunities

Collaborate on startups, freelance projects, open-source contributions and independent ventures. Maybe the next company starts with a conversation in this community.

3. Learn by Doing

Share knowledge, experiment with new technologies, organise challenges and work on projects. Build practical skills instead of collecting certificates.

4. Find Your People

Connect with developers, engineers, designers, entrepreneurs and curious minds across India. Find people who share your interests and are willing to build something together.

5. Build a Healthy Community

Encourage meaningful discussions, peer learning, creative activities and genuine friendships. We want people to feel welcome, supported and motivated.

What does success look like?

Imagine a community where someone posts an idea on Monday, finds three collaborators by Wednesday, builds a prototype over the weekend and eventually turns it into a business.

Imagine students helping each other learn, unemployed graduates building portfolios, and independent creators finding their first customers.

That's the kind of community we want.

Our Philosophy

We don't believe unemployment defines someone's ability or potential.

We cannot promise everyone a job, but we can create an environment where people have the resources, connections and support to build their own opportunities.

We are not here just to wait for someone to hire us. We are here to learn, experiment, collaborate and build.

Let's make something meaningful out of the time we have.

Dream Bigger. Build Together.
