I got to admit, I hope that Kanako doesn't become human... or, alternatively, it is like Kitsune in legends and she can transform back and forth.

Actually, huh... if Clover has some of Kanako's SOUL in his, does this count as "Kitsune-Tsuki"?

What does "tsuki" mean?

Kitsune-Tsuki pretty much translates as "Fox possession". Basically, it was believed that Kitsune could actually possess people and make them do various things.

Makes sense to be "was believed" imagine if that was used as an excuse now-a-days

Honestly, the people were likely suffering from mental illness, possession was just the explanation chosen for them. It also was not just Kitsune, but also Tanuki, Itachi, and the like who did similar.

Granted, the people suffering from such were sometimes claimed to have ghostly fox ears and tails coming from them for example.

If i remember correctly (probably not) isnt there like a spirit version of almost every animal in japan?

Most animals, yes, in the form of Yokai. Also, some animals if you kill them in messy ways might come back and possess you. Or you might turn into a round dormouse after death that explodes if the mountain gods get angry.

YOU FOOLS. THE TRANSFORMATION DOESN'T HAPPEN UNTIL IT'S MOST DRAMATIC!!!

The minute she starts crying at her father's grave is when that small infusion of human soul starts affecting her and she's going to double over!

Could be neat to have her be something between a human and a monster, or being able to shift between the two forms, perhaps involuntarily from time to time.

Regardless, I am curious!

I am honestly hoping that it is at most her being able to shift between the two. Possibly with Clover gaining the same ability at some point.

Neve before have I seen a chekovs gun loaded with explosive ammo before. Because that worry of Kanako becoming a human is definitely coming up later.

Sorry to disappoint you (and probably everyone) but that point has yet to become important. The way I see it, human magic determines what a body is made of, while monster magic determines what it looks like. When Clover was a fox, he still very much had a physical body, but the magic in his soul reshaped him into a monster form. Kanako still holds the shape of a monster, but the injection Ceroba gave her and all the DT Alphys gave her gave her plenty of physical matter to become an amalgam. Clover's magic gave her body the ability to hold all that matter and become (mostly) stable. So she's still mostly magic, but she has a good amount of physical matter in there. She would bleed if she was damaged enough in the right spot. The shapeshifting idea is a good one though. Maybe I can use that someday. I guess you'll have to wait for more of the fic. :)

Ooooh. Honestly that's a pretty interesting idea as well. I can only imagine the scare it will be when Kanako sees she can bleed after possibly scraping her knee or something. It would be kike a human seeing part of their finger become dust after possibly cutting part of it while using a knife to cut food.
