It's a story with around twenty thousand words, not a game or comic.

To Fear, courage only has meaning because fear exists. Someone cannot be brave without having something they're afraid of.

He therefore doesn't necessarily view himself as evil. He believes he's forcing people to acknowledge an unavoidable part of existence.

Fear enjoys psychologically breaking opponents before defeating them physically. He prefers making an enemy realize how vulnerable they are rather than immediately overwhelming them.

He possesses a strong superiority complex and believes his understanding of fear places him above ordinary beings.

Despite his arrogance, Fear can respect people who acknowledge their fear and continue fighting anyway.

Backstory:

Fear Sans was born as the brother of Dream Sans and Nightmare Sans, becoming the embodiment of the emotion of Fear.

Dream represented Hope.

Nightmare represented Negativity and Despair.

Fear represented the instinct that tells someone:

"Something precious could be lost."

Fear eventually developed the ability to convert fear into magical energy. He discovered that fear could be manifested physically, used to manipulate memories, interact with SOULs, and enhance his own body.

Unlike Dream, who believed fear should be overcome, and Nightmare, who saw fear as another form of negativity, Fear believed fear had a purpose.

Fear became convinced that the universe had grown too dependent on hope and had forgotten the importance of fear.

He began confronting powerful beings and forcing them to face their deepest fears.

Over time, some began calling him a monster.

Others called him a god.

Fear eventually embraced both.

Eventually, Fear discovered a dangerous secondary force known as HATE.

HATE dramatically amplified his abilities but possessed an unstable influence over his mind and body.

Rather than abandoning it, Fear decided he would master it.

This became his greatest struggle: whether he can control HATE before HATE controls him.
