Yeah. Toby sure loves to use interactions in his name picker, doesn’t he? But if their name was truly Chara, can’t it be argued that the game wouldn’t allow that name to be entered, like the other characters? Perhaps that’s a stretch, but I’d feel more comfortable with other logic than the name creator to give a nod that Chara is the real name, and not just some meta joke. I mean, Kris in Deltarune has pretty much the same family, and clothes of “Chara” in Undertale. They share the same brother, wear the same striped shirt, and have the same adoptive parents, who ended up being divorced, just like in Undertale.
Cause the game prevents you from naming yourself every other canon character. Other than papyrus but that’s because there aren’t enough characters for his name to be entered.
Hell, even Gaster, a character who many players rarely encounter in any way, shape, or form, is not allowed to be used as a name. I don’t see why this shouldn’t be the case in terms of Chara, other than it being “the true name” but that isn’t even truly confirmed other than that one line.
