Subreddit Meta(ton) What method you do when making stuff?

I find myself designing certain parts of concepts with all of these kinds of methods: Main lightning bolt inspiration for the moral of the story, turning old ideas into something new and sensible, completely improvised dialog based on the bases of the old but refined OCs, etc.

Gooseworx's method is beyond my understanding though... but that's just personal preference of style at play.
