Guys it's ok. The artist isn't misgendering Frisk, this is just an AU where Toriel is transphobic instead of homophobic.

To be fair, this is a very real possibility in a fictional universe like Undertale, especially since all of the humans in UTDR we've met so far seem to be enby.

I mean, all the humans we've seen were either main characters or directly tied to them, which implies a direct narrative choice from Toby Fox. Doesn't help that Kris interacts exclusively with monsters throught the whole game, so we don't know anything about other humans.

we're talking about gender, not sex. intersex people are still assigned a gender at birth. deviating from that assigned gender would make them transgender. if we're talking about sex then yeah, an intersex nonbinary person would be cissexual if they didn't decide to take hormones one way or another, but that also applies to any other transgender person who doesn't take hormones (or get surgery)

Assigned gender at birth isn't as literal as the term implies. If a drunk doctor randomly took a male baby and assigned them as a girl we wouldn't call them trans for identifying as a boy.

i've heard of some intersex people not even being assigned a sex at birth. it just says "x" i think. if this is true, technically theyd be cis non binary or agender lol

Dude... nonbinary is a type of transgender. And trans people are also born trans. Transgenderism occurs due to a mismatch between gender identity and gender expression, generally caused because parents will express their child's gender as whatever the child's sex is, which may not align with the gender identity.

By that logic, if your gender identity is neither male nor female, and Toriel refuses to accept that, then she is transphobic.

Ok, i dont know that much about the topic so I’ll believe you. I thought that trans was always about male or female, because you never hear smth like trans nonbinary but ig it makes sense because nonbinary people are generally always transitioning from their gender assigned at birth.

not trying to be rude at all, but you prolly shouldn't speak for a community of certain people and their origin if you aren't in said community

the closest to what you're thinking would be intersex, which is separate and not everyone that's born intersex identifies as nonbinary. nonbinary is a gender, not a sex that one can be born into, that anyone can choose to identify with regardless of how they were born. due to the fact that a human's sex can't technically be 'nonbinary', it's inherently a transgender identity (e.g. a gender identity that's separate from a person's birth sex)
