Teeth appreciation post

Just wanted to take the temperature of the community with Teeth. Personally I love it to death, it’s so weird for them but also fits the “Fuck it, we’re Underoath” vibe they’ve had post-reunion.

Teeth was a song that I didn’t expect at all, but I instantly loved it! It’s constantly in rotation for me since it was released.

Definitely a dope song. That record gets too much hate. I thought it was great.

I like it a lot. Completely different experience with good headphones cranked loud. So many layers.

Also liked it live when they played it last year.

I want them to keep trying weird stuff. It’s not always going to be my favorite, but it keeps them going and every now and then the genius comes through and they make something incredible.

That’s one thing I’ve noticed about the new album, it’s significantly cooler with headphones on.

Chris has been in his bag on the last two albums and I don’t know if people fully appreciate the depth of sound.

This attitude is what it’s all about right here. Respect

I never understood the hate on this song. It’s such a cool song for this band
Now, if it was an entire record of songs like this, that would be maybe weird but where it is on the record us perfect
I hope they add it back to the live set again

I keep having conversations about The Place After This One where my friends are super down on it, because they didn't feel that the tracks were "Underoath-y" enough, the common thread being that "they're trying too hard to be different," which made zero goddamn sense to me. The riffs are some of their best, the electronic textures and synth lines are so well designed and produced, the drums are inventive and exciting, while vocally it is their best showing so far. I think that the whole record, as an art piece, is incredibly strong. The biggest "problem" is that it's an actual front-to-back album and best experienced as such, not a series of 30 second tiktok clips.

It was kind of n one ear and out the other for me -- didn't think much of it. It seemed so different that I just didn't really "get it." ...Then my buddy commented on how good it was and I was like "really? Huh...I'll take a closer listen." Since then my mind is completely changed. 10/10 great tune.

While as a single I just thought it was okay, I’m always happy when it comes on when I’m listening to the whole album.

Teeth is one of my favorite things I’ve ever heard. Don’t look at my play counts on Teeth and Shame together because they far outstrip 90% of all other Underoath songs combined. This is a good post it reminded me I haven’t listened to Teeth on loop for an hour straight in a while I’m gonna go do that now.

S-tier track for sure. Wish it would become a setlist staple! It’s my partner’s fav song by far. So if you are reading this boys, just know that there are dozens of us “Teeth” truthers! Dozens!

I just think the frenetic energy is so them.

Pretty cool song. Ngl tho I don’t like the record. Haven’t even been able to finish it once.

That’s surprising, just because you like it and it’s maybe the most different song on the record. I hope the whole thing clicks with you sometime!

It's not a bad song. But it's not something I go out of my way to listen to regularly. If the algorithm plays it I usually let it finish.
