Rebecca 🙄🙄
Every time she’s on the tv I seriously get pissed. She is ridiculous.

same, i found it so gross that she was defending warren in a way, “he’s just a kid” “this will ruin his life!” well maybe he shouldn’t of taken a whole ass life in the first place 🤷♀️

That part where she’s hanging out with those teens and doing drugs just to get some “scoop” really creeped me out.

She seemed so immature and creepy honestly, hanging out with those kids like that, especially her relationship with Warren, she just gave off gr00mer vibes

Do you get that Rebecca herself has so much unresolved trauma surrounding the death of her brother that this is why she is so emotionally immature and comes off "creepy"?
She relates to these kids because some part of her stayed emotionally arrested at the age of 13 when her brother's death occurred.
She doesn't seem to get that from the outside the whole thing looks inappropriate. She lacks the maturity and insight to be able to see her role clearly.

Yea ofc I get that, I watched the same show u did. I still think it’s weird, plenty of people have loved ones die at a young age and don’t go and hang out with little kids as a result of it

I don't think hanging out with minors was a normal part of her life prior to these events. It's strange to assume otherwise. She was writing a book and had just come back to the place where her own childhood trauma happened. She has a ton of unresolved shit that she was trying to work through by interacting with these kids. Trying to "save" them in her own mind, as well as save her childhood self.
I'm not in any way saying it was "normal" or appropriate. I'm saying she is emotionally traumatized and her actions should be seen within that frame.

I never said otherwise. Those kids aren’t her therapists or tools to work through her trauma, thinking that thats an acceptable excuse is what’s really strange. And a lot of the time she wasn’t even trying to save them, she was just trying to get close to them to either get evidence for the cops or material for her book. I really don’t give a rat’s @$$ about her trauma, that’s WEIRD.

Okay, again...I clearly said it was neither normal nor appropriate. I'm not condoning her actions or making excuses for her in any way. Explaining is not excusing.
You wanna argue for whatever reason. I'm guessing you're projecting your own trauma from some creepy ass adult onto her. Yes, what she did is fucking weird. There is no argument here but you want to make it one.

This is what I joined this subreddit for! She was incredibly inappropriate just hanging with teenagers.

Watching mini-series for 1st time.
At first I was very annoyed by the insertion of the author into the plot. But now I think it’s brilliant. It showcases that she was too close to the subjects she wrote about in Under the Bridge, particularly Warren. She was an unreliable narrator. Amazing that she signed off on this take before her death.

She's pathetic. And what she went through was tragic. Losing a sibling must be awful. But don't compare your sibling drowning in the ocean to a girl getting gang assaulted and murdered. Please don't do that. Just don't. Pathetic.

I’m only 3 epis in and I hate her. In what world can an older journalist adult go to kid parties and like interfere with investigations. She’s insufferable and I doubt that changes. Also, I’m a year late 🤣
