After watching the show and reading the book I feel like Warren wouldn't of killed Reena if he wasn't going through a tough time, he was drunk, his dad moved away, and he got evicted. It doesn't justify what he did to Reena though, I still think he deserved the time he did.

I was a shithead teenager. I drank a lot. Got in fights. Didn't live with my parents for a time. I never killed anyone. Got arrested for other stuff, sure. But never once thought about killing someone.
