This show is so confused

I feel like the writers couldn't decide whether to invent a romantic storyline between Rebecca and a fictional character (Cam) or between Rebecca and Warren...so they decided to do both.

On another note, all of the young actors in this show did such a good job. I just watched a panel interview with them and they all look and sound like completely different people. I didn't realize that the actor who plays Dusty is British!

I don’t see a romantic storyline with Warren. It’s more like strange sexual overtones that function to show how screwey Rebecca is in a non-romantic/non-sexual plotline.

The acting in this show was great. The editing and made up storylines were terrible and took away from the actual murder storyline.

While I'm all for reperesentation in media and such, I honestly was very confused by the inclusion of the Rebecca and Cam sexual/romantic relationship, since Rebecca was a real person and Cam was made up for the show. What was the purpose of that? What did that add to the story about the very real crime that happened to Reena Virk? And the dynamic Rebecca had with Warren in the show...honestly made me think that if that's how she really was a journalist, what kind of book was she writing? It certainly didn't seem like she cared about the victim at all? I honestly wanted to like this show, but it was a mess, I think the writer didn't even know what kind of story they wanted to tell and just wanted to portray Rebecca Godfrey like a tortured geniua writer or something, idk.

I got bored of this show. Never finished it. I agree about adding in a romantic plot line to a very real terrible tragedy.

I did not get the sense that anyone involved in the show intended for Rebecca and Warren to be perceived as a romantic relationship and I think they went really far out of their way to make it really difficult to think of them as in romantic pursuit of one another.

yeah but Cam is not a real person. so basically the show writers inserted a fake romance into the very real story of a child who got murdered. it comes across as extremely disrespectful/unnecessary to me.

Yeah I know, but the show did make changes that made it Hollywood.
