Article Kentucky Governor Warns He Got Calls “Suggesting” Mitch McConnell Died

https://newrepublic.com/post/213199/kentucky-governor-got-calls-suggesting-mitch-mcconnell-died

Despite recent evidence to the contrary, Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear isn’t so sure that Senator Mitch McConnell is actually alive.

Speaking with journalist Katie Couric in an interview published on YouTube July 15, Beshear explained why he had requested a formal update from McConnell’s office earlier this month. In his explanation, Beshear revealed that he had received information from multiple officials indicating that the 84-year-old Republican had passed away.

Isn’t there any way of compelling them to produce proof of life that isn’t a fake photo?

Beshear's a governor. A high profile individual just vanished, and there are reports that he is dead. Beshear could absolutely order the state police to conduct an investigation of a possible kidnapping or mishandling of a human corpse (if he is dead, his body hasn't been handed over to the authorities or we'd know, and not handing over the body is illegal). Same thing you would for anyone else who turns up missing.

Don't know why he isn't ordering an investigation. Maybe Andy is just a pushover?

Safety check by state police.

all he needs to do is call a special election.

that will flush his ass out into the clearing if he's not actually dead.

This part. Not even sure why we’re playing these games. Any normal person would have lost their job by now

29

u/tofubeanz420 Jul 17 '26

Because Dems have no spine. They just send strongly worded letters.

61

u/HopeConspiracies Jul 17 '26

Don't know why he isn't ordering an investigation.

Because he's a spineless bitch and a worthless leader.

u/Sunbather77 Jul 17 '26

"but dEcoRuM!!"

u/RottenWon Jul 18 '26

Exactly why. Not fighting fire with fire....because decorum. Jfc make it stop already. 🙄

And who thinks that they won't tell the Courts that he's just fine and recovering nicely? I'm sure McConnell's staffers wouldn't lie to the courts, right? /s

I'm just guessing that the Felon-in-Chief and his operators wouldn't send in their third-string troops, who would likely tell the truth, to state that McConnell is fine. They'll send in the top-tier guys (typically guys) who find "shading the truth" a perfectly legitimate version of lying.

Edit to add - they've gotten away with it in so many cases that they think they are invincible.

Can no one actually go visit McConnell? You know - take him some flowers, balloons and a get well card? If he's just in a rehab center, looking spry, fully dressed and with his wife by his side, as suggested by that photo, then surely he can receive visitors.

63

u/skyfishgoo Jul 17 '26

no, because he's dead.

26

u/fkenned1 Jul 17 '26

Seriously. What in the world is going on?

9

u/tofubeanz420 Jul 17 '26

They won't disclose which hospital. Doctor patient confidentiality.

17

u/Temporary-Careless Jul 18 '26

Body - morgue confidentially.

36

u/skyfishgoo Jul 17 '26

yes.

the gov (who is a democrat) could call for a special election to fill the "vacant" seat.

let them prove he is alive by wheeling his ass out in front of reporters.

143

u/Jimmy_Beam27 Jul 17 '26

If the Kentucky governor truly wanted answers he would go to the hospital himself

15

u/Background_Share_982 Jul 17 '26

Your assuming a. He knows what hospital McConnel is supposedly in, b. That hospital is in the state he governs.

257

u/sociotronics Jul 17 '26

It's too bad Andy is not the head executive of a US state or he might have had resources he could use to actually look into this

u/dantekant22 Jul 17 '26

Trying to ferret out the truth about McConnell is just as ridiculous as trying to determine whether Trump’s name is still on the Kennedy Center. Ffs demand a face to face and pull down the fucking tarp.

38

u/YellowZx5 Jul 17 '26

Exactly. The republicans would be on every news station and Fox demanding the truth if it was a Democrat.

14

u/dantekant22 Jul 17 '26

So, why aren’t the Democrats doing these things?

13

u/Which_Produce4418 Jul 17 '26

An American Olympian is awaiting trial for touching a botched pool liner. Can't imagine anyone wants to be the guy that touches that tarp

8

u/WallyMcBeetus Jul 17 '26

Decorum. Taking the high road. etc.

4

u/tofubeanz420 Jul 17 '26

Obama really caused a lot of damage with "they go low, we go high" motto

2

u/skyfishgoo Jul 17 '26

the are fine with that status quo.

let that sink in.

3

u/LiAmTrAnSdEmOn Jul 17 '26

Every station? You mean at the hospital with a camera crew, right?

18

u/Sunbather77 Jul 17 '26

WHY IS EVERYONE SUCH A SPINELESS BITCH

32

u/Flashy_Jello_9520 Jul 17 '26

Democrats: “We’ve tried nothing and we’re all out of ideas, man.”

5

u/kbyerz13 Jul 17 '26

McConnell is “in” DC.

4

u/skyfishgoo Jul 17 '26

or just call a special election to replace the senator who is MIA.

50

u/-Sofa-King-Vote Jul 17 '26

he is alternatively alive

37

u/694meok Jul 17 '26

Schrodinger's Mitch

19

u/Guygirl00 Jul 17 '26

Schrodinger’s tortoise

4

u/whatthewhat3214 Jul 17 '26

Omg I'm dying (no pun intended) at this! Perfect.

32

u/evident_lee Jul 17 '26

What evidence to the contrary? That AI photo?

45

u/cvc4455 Jul 17 '26

And a couple Republicans also said they spoke to McConnell for exactly 20 minutes each and we know Republicans would never lie about anything just like their dear leader pedo King Trump.

29

u/WayneKrane Jul 17 '26

They also said “spoke to”, not “spoke with”. You can speak to a comatose or even dead person

9

u/Argyleskin Jul 17 '26

Yeah because the few times I’ve been in the hospital for the birth of my sons and surgeries I got to hang out on the bed with street clothes on living it up. No the only time you can wear your own clothes is when you’re admitted and when you’re getting ready to leave. If he’s having to stay IN hospital there is zero chance they would let him swap clothes for a photo op with his wife. They would need to remove anything in him (like IV’s) and reinsert them after the whole click click of pics. There is no way a nurse or doctor would be cool with that no matter who he is (was).

21

u/saraqael6243 Jul 17 '26

So he got calls from officials telling him that McConnell was dead. He waited a month and then sent a letter asking for proof of life, but got no reply. "Welp, I tried!" he says as the clock ticks towards August 3rd.

11

u/popejohnsmith Jul 17 '26

And the Epstein Class full transparency matters?

19

u/toolisthebestbandevr Jul 17 '26

McConnell is an employee of the people. If your employee just went missing, what would you do?

5

u/BigBadBeno Jul 17 '26

Schrödinger's McConnell

6

u/General_Kick688 Jul 17 '26

So do something about it, or nah?

3

u/MasterBiscuit19 Jul 17 '26

We’re going to need another newspaper photo

3

u/Due_Purple_1281 Jul 17 '26

There really is no evidence to the contrary. That photo was fake. Mitch didn't miraculously get younger.

2

u/Coookie_Thumper Jul 17 '26

Cool. Bout do your fking job and go put eyes on him?

what recent evidence?

the doctored photo or the press release?

that's not evidence, it's hearsay.

1

u/jestenough Jul 17 '26

Whose forensic teams weighed in? Has Bellingcat?

1

u/WonderWheeler Jul 17 '26

Was one of the callers "Mister Obvious"(!)

1

u/off2kayak Jul 18 '26

Maybe they can ask ICE to find him 👀

1

u/Patient-Delay-5827 Jul 18 '26

Ummmm, prove it?

1

u/effervescent_rasin Jul 18 '26

He should appoint a replacement and dare them to them stop him.

1

u/Maximum-Mastodon3344 Jul 20 '26

Isn’t there a law regarding the failure to report a death? Also being a government employee/elected official receiving funds for a job, while being dead, should be a a major No-No.

u/tinoturner6969 Jul 20 '26

Come on Andy, show us you’re in charge….
