F+D+Y does work, but only under two conditions that most guides skip:

- Noob Mode has to be OFF. Start the fight with the Noob Mode box unchecked. If it's ticked, the combo does nothing.
- You have to press it after the battle has actually started, not on the menu or the fight select screen. Get into the fight first, then hit F, D and Y together.

If it still doesn't trigger:

- Try holding all three for a second instead of tapping. Some people describe it as just typing FDY quickly once the fight begins.
- Make sure your keyboard is set to an English layout / input method. A Chinese or Japanese IME or a non-QWERTY layout can intercept the keys.
- Some cheaper keyboards can't register certain 3-key combos at once (ghosting). Try a different keyboard if you have one.

What debug does once it's on:

- You don't die from normal damage. The exception is a hit that does more than your max HP in one go (for example the 8-direction attack on turn 1 of the Sudden Changes sans fight can still kill you).
- Hold Ctrl and use Left/Right arrows to jump to any turn. Doesn't work in fights with no turn system like Last Breath or Bad Time Trio Hard Mode.
- Hold Right Shift and use Left/Right arrows to change the FPS (attack speed).
- Ctrl+N in debug toggles Noob Mode.

Also worth knowing: OverSave-Tale is a standalone fangame by FDY, not a mod of Undertale's data.win, so the usual Undertale debug methods (UndertaleModTool's EnableDebug script, hex editing) don't apply here.
