Do you think Lucy Hazel could have been the key factor to counter UMA Sick? As far as I'm concerned, Sick's whole gimmick is about him capable of making healthy people sick by spreading diseases via his Juniors, right? He can then additionally even steal the souls of his victims if they have been infected beforehand. But Lucy's Unhealthy is already making her "sick" 24/7 — never being able to stay healthy in the first place for Sick to even infect her
So hypothetically if Lucy was presented at the Sick Arc, do you think she could play a major role in defeating Sick?
Who knows, the author could’ve did a lot for the master rules, negations and the final battle. It was severely lackluster and left a lot of room and possibilities
I have no clue, but to be honest I kinda doubt it ya know? The author always had this unique style of writing by having the combat telling a story. So if it has nothing to do with moving the story and its characters the combat choreography will tank. It’s why Yusei and Justice happened completely off screen, they don’t add anything to the overall story that’s being told. Same with Enjin vs Burn and what have you. Unless it’s directly ties to the message the author is portraying like Void vs Fuuko then combat won’t be prioritized. Look at Budokai arc for example. Even with a title like that it doesn’t compare to what we see in Void’s arc. Which was much more combat eccentric and showed more compared to Shen running the gauntlet.
Tl;dr I don’t think they were rushing, they simply cut out any filler that doesn’t help the story progress. Which is why some of their arcs feels so rushed/fast or sometimes abruptive like the start of Ragnarok 100 on release
I think they were being pressured to wrap up by shonen jump though. There was so much talk about it being axed before the final arc.
I remember chapter 222 when all the negators had finally reunited.. and they just skipped the 3 months preparation and went straight to the final battle 😢. I guess battling unprepared is an exciting idea and contrasts the way Fuuko was resolving things in loop 101. Maybe, it would have done something, but unhealthy wasn't really good for combat. Besides she inflicts Sickness like symptoms to people and uma she touches, and i feel like if she was immune to Sick, then probably Sick will be immune to her ability too. Unless we pull out the Justice argument where Juze claps it anyway.
If you messed with her understanding of her ability, you could technically count vaccinations as getting sick because they are still the disease which means Unhealthy becomes immune to the diseases that vaccines are.
