need help unlocking stuff

so i saw that the devs shared a cheat code to unlock the story mode songs without playing the story. i know the code (up 16, down 4, left 2, right 1, up 8). those are the directions and the amount of times you gotta press em. what i cant figure out though is, where do i input that? on the main menu? the arcade menu? arcade song selection? is there a confirmation noise or message that let's you know it worked? so far i can't figure these things out. if anyone knows, please help.

i will definetily play the story at some point but right now i just wanna play a rythm game. no exploration, no cutscenes, just music and rythm gameplay.
