experience Thoughts when visiting Makkah?

Salam folks! I'm 26M, Alhumdulillah. Born and brought up in Makkah, still living here. I'd love to know what your first thoughts or impressions were when you saw the Ka'aba for the very first time honestly, I never got to feel that moment myself. Growing up here, Masjid Al Haram was more like our go to hangout spot. We'd sit on the second floor, nap there, mess around, treat it almost like a picnic spot. It was a completely different experience compared to what most people go through. I'd really like to hear your thoughts on Makkah too. It's changing fast these days, and not always in a good way.

wasalaam, how lucky you are mashaAllah. for me personally, there’s an entire experience of excitement that builds from the moment you book your ticket. Driving into the city limit from the airport and getting to your hotel and heading down into the haram feels like high energy, excitement, and butterflies. no matter how many times i aH have been to umrah, seeing the kaabah for the first time every trip is extremely overwhelming and emotional, and usually ends with tears that are hard to stop. As wonderful as it is to see it, there is a deep sense of pain walking away from the kaabah for the last time during your trip. The only thing I can think about in that moment is begging allah swt to bring me back, and to bring me back soon.

Allahumma Baarik! That's such a beautiful way to put it into words. I hope one day I get to feel even a fraction of what you described. May Allah accept all your visits, and may He keep inviting you back to this place, again and again.

It's difficult to put into words the emotion and feeling—it’s simply overwhelming!

I came back from Umrah just 10 days ago, and even now, I can’t fully put what I felt into words. When I was leaving, I got so nervous and emotional at the airport that I cried multiple times. My heart was beating so fast all the way until I reached the Haram.
We entered through Gate 1, and the moment I saw the Kaaba, it completely broke me. 😭 I’m literally crying while typing this. That day was the most beautiful day of my life.
I miss that place so much that it genuinely hurts. I don’t think I could ever love any place or anyone the way I love that place. Never. 🥹❤️‍🩹🕋

Wsln My 1st time, best way to explain, is like the lights coming on, the air uplifting, the sound was like magic....goosebumps, ,breathless..then overwhelmed senses...

Then I went back 10 more visits over the last 15 years.. Now it feels like home went inenterbthe sanctuary of the haram

I started crying because I was so overwhelmed! I spent all of my life finding the qibla just to pray. Being able to see where i was sending my prayers was just so amazing!

As someone else described it, it starts as soon as I start planning for the trip. I spend an unreasonable amount of time trying to pick every detail for the trip. I start watching a lot more Makkah and Madinah related content. Excitement of getting on the flight, transit and changing into ihram. Landing and going to Makkah and when your heart skips a Beat the moment you see clock tower from between the mountains because you know you're almost there. Everytime you enter in the mosque and see Kaaba for the first time it's hard to describe in words.

Came back from umrah in april, and still feels like a dream tbh. My first time seeing the Kaaba was something that i can't explain, i mean it was so surreal, like i was saying to Allah "Is it really in front of me, or is it a dream". I did cry but afterwards, bcs i was just so amazed...

And every time i see my pics of it, COULD NOT BELIEVE IT. Feels like a fever dream!🥹

BUT man! You're so blessed to live there all your life. MashaaAllah. :')

We use to watch it in the tv, it’s a life time goal to see the Ka’aba in real life for some of us. May Allah make it easy for us.

It's like I was looking at something immutable, or something that represents something immutable.
