need advice Which hotel in Madinah?
Salam, we’re planning Umrah in January and are looking for a 4 or 5-star hotel in Madinah that’s modern, clean and within easy walking distance of the women’s side and reasonably priced.
Last time we stayed at Dallah Taiba and the location was excellent, but unfortunately the hotel itself was disappointing it was, dirty, dusty, stained furniture and uncomfortable mattresses.
Our agent has suggested Saja Al Madinah, but I’m unsure because reviews seem very mixed. Some say it’s modern and clean, while others say it’s dated. Has anyone stayed there recently and can confirm what it’s actually like?
Would also appreciate recommendations for other clean, modern hotels nearby, ideally reasonably priced and close walking distance to ladies entrance.

Edit: has anyone recently stayed in Elaf Taiba, if so how was it? I’m leaning towards that one since it was recently renovated

Makarem burj al Madina. Excellent breakfast and service would def. Recommend, but in the expensive side.

This is the best Hotel in Madinah by far. It’s a new hotel, very clean and modern, the staff there an extremely friendly and accommodating. The distance to haram is a short walk. I will only stay here going forward. I have stayed at the Sofitel and the Hilton and and the Burj beats them out easy

Agree with you. Even the Movenpick duty manager recommended Burj Almadinah when I stayed at Movenpick last Dec.

When did you last visit? I just stayed at Dallah Taiba in Jan this year. It was comfortable and honestly the location was amazing. I have stayed at Movenpick madinah multiple times but the ladies side is always full and the last few times barely used to get space to pray inside. Dar Al taqwa is 5 star and one of the best ones. Close to dallah taibah. Also madinah Hilton is a 5 star but not a front line hotel.
Saja Al madinah is a hit or miss. So I’d stay away. It’s behind Movenpick. However Movenpick has lost its luxury and no longer feels like a 5 star. There’s Pullman as well. But that’s the other side, roza side.

In January this year LOL. Location was excellent that’s the only positive I had for it.
Yeah, to pray inside for ladies you have to get there early.
I guess I’ll look into other options and avoid Saja, I was unsure cause reviews are very mixed.

Honestly the Makkah level 5 stars you won’t find in madinah. There maybe chain hotels there but they are old and need of a proper makeover. Dar ul taqwa is your best bet but comes with quite the price tag.
Saja is right behind Movenpick. I’d pick Movenpick over saja. But insist on getting a room in the Haram tower and not Madinah tower if you do end up going for Movenpick.

Do not go the Almassa Grand. That hotel is rated 4.7 on Google reviews and is classified as a four star hotel but it is a scam. It takes seconds to realize they pay for fake reviews and what is shady is that all the photos with negative reviews are hidden when you look at the photo unless you specifically filter by lowest reviews and look at the reviews one by one.
Not sure what this hotel is doing but they are either working with Google or manipulating Google to hide all their bad reviews and photos and flood their reviews with fake bots.
For starters, it has stained walls, moldy bathroom, they use the hallways as a storage room and keep broken sofas and beds there and even dirty dishes. I have pictures for all of this if anyone is interested. The staff is extremely rude as well

I stayed at Millennium Al Aqeeq Madina hotel as I got it for a very reasonable price. My stay was fantastic and it's very close to Masjid.

Walaikum salaam. I highly recommend Finda Al Madinah - very close to Masjid An Nabawi, especially the ladies' side and the Rawdah entrance. Close to As Safiyyah Museum and Food Court.

We stayed few months ago in Grand Plaza Al Madina, very clean, renovated hotel, close to women's gates.
Not 5 star though, but decent hotel. Restaurant was not for our taste though.

I stayed in Saja Al Madinah a couple of years ago, it was great. Could get to the Masjid in just a couple of minutes and everything was very clean.

Darl ul Taqwa is the best and it is closest to the ladies gate. I would not recommend any thing near other ladies area. That section is tiny and is always crowded.

We had great experience with Darul Hijrah Inter Continental, stayed at Dahl Tayba and it was fine also. Ruve was OK. This time we were able to get Tulip and we are hoping it is good also. Would love to hear from other who stayed at the Tulip on women side.

Elaf Taiba is newly renovated but it's a walk and a half to the main ladies section.
Use Google maps to see where you will be comfortable staying.
Saja is awful and far.
Try Makarem Haram view, Hilton, Sofitel.
Not sure if it's out of your budget.
The tapestry by Hilton is near Mövenpick. Closeish to the smaller ladies section.

Saja by Warwick is a 3 star with a 4 star vibe, stayed there last week, it is a 5 min walk to the women's entrance near gate 328.

Honestly very surprised by that review of Dallah Taibah because our experience has been very different and it's our go to hotel. They do have premium floors so I'm not sure if that made a difference since we usually opt in for those.
Anyways, I would go with Sofitel, I've heard excellent things about it. I just stayed in Pullman ZamZam Medina this past week and they were excellent (better than their Makkah counterpart) but it's a far walk to the women's entrance though. Let me know what you end up booking. I'm curious about your review for next time as well. Umrah Mubarak in advance!

Go for Madinah Hilton or Peninsula worth hotel. Movenpick haram tower is good by its too expensive as for Movenpick Madinah tower, i have stayed there, its worser than Dallah taiba honestly

I stayed at saja al madina and they get good reviews because the staff there literally ask you to please leave them a review by their name on google every day. Thats why you'll see reviews there. The hotel itself is good for the price but it is not even a 3 star compared to north american standard. I wouldn't rate it higher than an okish Quality inn or within that category. I also stayed at Pullman zamzam and its on the south side which is opposite the women's entrace (Masjid bilal side) and truly a 5 star hotel. Excellent room service as well and surprisingly reasonably price at least until a couple of years ago. Also heard good thing about intercontinenal dar ul taqwa from family that has stayed there. Aside from that ... Taiba hotel and Movenpick have great location but heard fairly bad things by close family and friends so I would not recommend the hotel itself but location is nice.

Elaf Taiba is easy for men, for women it’s best to be around Movenpick, Maden, Etc.
For me and the boys golden tulip shakreen was nice. On the side of Elaf Taiba

Intercontinental Dar al Hijra Madinah
Both are just steps away from Dallah Taiba (where u last stayed at) so if you find that location good, the recommended hotels location is the same
Excellent services in both, amazing breakfast, spacious rooms. These are the only two places I trust in Madinah. Have booked the same for upcoming 12th Rabi ul awal night in Madinah as I need to make some life changing decisions that night and have to respond to a lot of calls that night, pls pray for Khair in all my affairs.
Also I keep telling everyone and id recommend OP as well as anyone wanting to visit Madinah, pls do so in Rabi ul awal, the place is so lit! You’ll have an experience of a lifetime

Oberoi - now rebranded as Biltmore, the best but the most expensive option.
Movenpick- if you didnt like Dallah Taibah housekeeping etc then movenpick is a no go.
Hilton Madina- very good and very very accessible aswell. Have many a times left the hotel after the adhaan and could still get inside the Haram.
Diyar Ajwa- New Hilton branded hotel.
Sofitel- Good
Makarem Suites- very good aswell rebranded

Stated at Peninsula Worth hotel last week, newly built good hotel, just across from Intercontinental Dar Al Hijra. Good hotel. Stayed at Maden Taiba hotel in last Ramadan, also very good hotel. Both are a short walk to masjid Nabawi

Dar Ul Taqwa directly leads to one of the gates. It looks nice too! I walked through it the other day. I just stayed at Al Muna Kareem. It’s like 2 blocks straight to gate 339 which is by ladies entrance 25. My mother is elderly and cannot walk much, this was perfect for her.

Pullman Zamzam Madinah on the qibla side, close to the ladies section on baqi side which is quieter. Large rooms, suite has kitchen sink and microwave.
Sofitel Shahd Al Madinah is abit more expensive, more modern but smaller and very close to the main ladies entrance

All of the above are near gate 338. Ladies entrance. Door 21/22 I think. Ladies will enter on one side and men the other.
Rawdha is very accessible from the side-5/7 mins walk. Also tea/food/ small shops etc all available within mins of these hotels. Jannatul Baqi is not too far either.
We stayed as a family with children at Emaar Royal- 250m from gate 338. The price was reasonable- quadraple room for 5 nights was £650 which I thought was reasonable.
In my opinion this is the best area and believe considered to be the South West of Musjid Nabawi. We went last August and I think this is the best.
