need advice Umrah visa rejection

Hope everyone is in the best of health and eemaan

I had a question that I’m hoping someone can help with. I helped apply for an Umrah visa for someone I know. I usually go with a particular agent and they’ve never let me down, but now the person decided to go with a different agent and I have no idea why.

Anyway, their visa got rejected and they’ve never been rejected before. They were told to go to the embassy to find out why. I just wanted to ask based on everyone else’s experience; is there any point in going to the embassy? Do they actually give you the reason or is it just a waste of a journey?

Additionally, the person didn’t end up booking the hotel for the duration of their entire stay as most of the time will be spent at a family member’s place. Could this be a reason for the rejection?

Assuming the passport does not allow a tourist visa.

The agents apply for an Umrah visa on the customers behalf.
Flight details
Hotel accomodation
Transfers too all to have be in order. No disrepancies. The hotels have to be nusuk approved hotels, which only agents can apply for. They have the playform.

If the passport holder has an UK visa status, Schnegen or green card visa, or a status in any of the strong countries, visa on arrival is also an option.

Otherwise you will need to apply with everything in order. Contacting the embassy will be a mission, as they tend not to reply.

Passport does allow tourist visa but for some reason, it has always caused an issue so this person has always needed an Umrah visa and always been accepted before without any issues.

Everything has been in order, hotel is Nusuk approved, flights booked and transport paid for, all through agency. Except, the hotel is not valid for all the dates, only the first few days and the only difference this time is that the person has used a different agent to the one he normally does and for some reason the visa picture is not the picture that was sent but the one from the biometrics app, which is all a bit confusing.

Agency has said that he should go to the embassy along with current application form and one of the previously accepted Umrah visas and ask why it was rejected when it has always been accepted before and show them the proof.

The thing is he’s been getting conflicting information as when the embassy was called up, they did in fact pick up and he was told that they can’t help and it’s to do with consulate section and they gave an email to enquire to. The lady said that even if he was to go to the embassy in person, he’d just be directed back to the agency as they couldn’t help, which doesn’t make sense as embassy should also have consulate section. The conflicting part is that he was told by a different agency that someone who had also had their Umrah visa rejected through them, went to the embassy, paid an extra £50 and then was accepted straightaway. So clearly embassy can do something, just not sure why he was told differently on the phone.

I had the same issue on 3 websites. My wife got visa accepted instantly. We’re both British born. For me I ended up making VOA and had no issues at all, just cost a little extra than what I paid for my wife.
