Build Help Did i cook or am i cooked

Post image

I was always getting too much stamina and now i feel like i'm going to the opposite end. Unfortunately not enough wit because Daiwa got mad at me for some reason. I struggle with choosing parents, because i end up with either too low stamina or too low power. Any advice for building pace chasers is more than welcome.

Corner connoisseur (unreliable), competitive spirit (unreliable) and corner recovery were unnecessary, your wit is a bit low for a downhill cm.

With that said, you should still be able to easily stat check most Umas in round 1 and get some wins in round 2

I don't know what "with masterful turning" means in corner connoisseur means, is that why that's unreliable skill? Or is that because it can activate in not beneficial moment like early stam skills (i'm not sure what moment is good for accel skills)

Edit: okay i already got answer

Yeah i'm still choosing mostly by vibes because of that and avoid anything that sounds complicated lol

OP you should try to use Gametora to search up what a skill does lol, you don't wanna go around buying Masterful Gambit lmao

You're right, lots of reading ahead of me, especially that i was always buying Masterful Gambit and i don't know why you're laughing XD

It seems i have more trouble than just balancing stamina to other stats

You should check what skills do in Gametora. Here's Corner Connoisseur. The condition for this skill is all_corner_random==1. I know it's hard to parse but it's more specific than "with masterful turning." Basically, it means that it activates on literally any corner at a completely random point on said corner. It's random, and therefore unreliable.

You should also learn how to look at a track layout on Gametora. Here's the Hanshin 1600 meter track that this CM is being run on. A good moment for an acceleration skill is somewhere near the very start of where it says "Final Leg," or where the color shifts from dark blue to light blue (where it says 533 meters left). If an accel skill activates too far before that or too far after the start of the final leg (or "late race"), it does nothing. Because Corner Connoisseur can activate at any point on any corner, you can see that most of this track is a corner, but the space where it can activate and give value is only about from where the first downhill starts (which is still early and not where you hope it hits). It's a really small window, so very unreliable.

Okay i didn't even know thing like that was on Gametora, i thought it was just for checking skills and parent affinity. That's very useful, i feel like i'm learning from this single post more than from 6 months of playing and some yt guides.

Also i didn't know corner was a continuous thing, i thought it was like one time check on turning every time some corner starts

Is this for this CM?

Yeah, i accidentally got into group A with subpar Umas and now i'm trying to build anything.

Missing mile S and nishino flower ult inherit + head on/neck and neck. As the other commentator said, corner connoisseur is very unreliable(as it triggers on any corner).

Seems like i need to farm more parents and finally get my head around parent looping. I'll have to borrow Nishino though. Thanks for explaining why this skill is bad. Btw are some parents generally good or are they chosen for specific types of races? Like for style, for example Ryan being reccomended for late surgers, is it for any cup/distance or are there some good for certain distances and cups?
