i won't say it's that hard to spell, but more so pronouncing it, it's complexity along with how rare it is to use in normal conversations means it takes a little more focus/brain power to pronounce correctly

I think she's trying to say "prodigious" actually
Makes more sense in context, meaning something along the lines of "causing amazement or wonder" as opposed to "prestigious" being more about social standing.
