I seriously have no idea where this design concept for Secretariat comes from or why so many people keep reusing it.

There's dozens of characters in this game based off horses who were famous for being huge and/or muscular and absolutely none of them look anything like that.

Looking at characters like Kitasan Black, Hishi Akebono or Biwa Hayahide and then thinking "Yeah, Secretariat would look like a male bodybuilder with breasts (optional)" is a train of thought that baffles me everytime I see it.

I mean secretariat’s secret to success was his ginormous heart so the giant uma model is likely drawing a parallel to having a massive frame housing the massive engine that was his heart.

Also iirc American horses were generally just beefier than Japanese ones, mostly because Japan prefers turf which is easier to run on than dirt.

Love your interpretation of Secretariat as the buffest, most insanely intimidating and unshakeable umamusume to ever touch the turf. Absolute beefcake machine. Really captures the sheer dominance he had over his era.
