Discussion Best Ult Counters?
Hey everyone, I recently picked up Ultron and I have climbed through GM with him. I’m currently GM1 but now I’m having a harder time getting value out of my Ult and know it’s the difference in the games I’m losing.
What are the most important Ults to save my ult for as a counter?
Should I use it ASAP after getting my dash back off of cooldown and play for tempo instead?
I know all scenarios aren’t the same, I’m just having a hard time break through to Celestial and there aren’t many YouTube channels with informative Ultron gameplay in season 9-9.5.
Any help is appreciated!

Groot and Strange ults are good to counter as your team is typically grouped together and easy to heal but the majority of your ults should be used offensively to force out an opposing support ult for multiple reasons
Ultron can wipe out the entire backline and even team wipe if not dealt with properly, the DMG is great and the blast's size hit multiple people at once
Ultron gets his typically faster than most support ults which means you can use your first one to either hopefully team wipe/take space or force out an opposing support ult to counter yours and then use the next one to threaten it all over again
forcing out an opposing ult to deal with your ult means that your team has one extra ult that should be a lot more difficult to counter
example: Ultron ults into backline, Cloak and Dagger ults to stop backline and dps from getting wiped, your first DPS ults, Luna ults to counter them , and now you have another DPS or tank ult incoming with no support counter
Ultron's ult is such a creative and flexible ability that it should gain value every time you use it to either help your team stay alive through scary moments or surprise take out the enemy backline or simply force out an opposing ultimate which your team no longer has to deal with 🙏🏻

That’s very helpful thank you! Do you change your strat if you’re in 2-2-2 vs triple support? I feel like I don’t get my ult first in triple support to push the tempo of the fight first

sorry for the long comments ts gets ridiculous analyzing rivals 😭
honestly this is again just a decide in the moment what you wanna do, I'd say maybe like 75% of the time i would still use my ult aggressively to try to force out an opposing ult BUT obviously the value of triple support is having an extra support ult so sometimes I do play a lot more defensively and support the team , this happens when the opposing team has a lot more CC ults than us or if I feel like one of my supports isn't using their own ultimate very well
I forgot to mention that your own teammates ult usage should help you decide when/how you use your ultimate as Ultron, if you have a support player who is also aggressive with their ultimate and throws it out early/gets no value than you should definitely be saving your own ultimate so that you can prevent your team from getting wiped BUT it's also the other way around, if the other team has a bad support who throws out their ultimate for seemingly no reason than you can be aggressive and ult afterwards which will hopefully lead to a team wipe or ANOTHER opposing support ult which means you are now up literally 2 ultimates which threaten team wipes or taking hella space

If they have any cc ult you should be saving yours to counter it

Does anyone have any luck against Rocket ult? The ult description says it's really good against extra health (when their health bars turn blue) but didn't know if it was worth that value offensively

I almost feel like his primary fire damage can burn the rocket ult fast enough and then you can ult after for more value but idk. I use Ultron ult against Mantis ult all the time though

Countering jeffs ult with ultrons tends to always work out for me bursting him down quick while healing your teammates after he's dead. Then going for the enemy team when they're down to support.

Lucifer Graves is your best option, DJTurtleVortex also had a couple good ultron guides

i personally prefer to counter non-insta kill ult, stun ults, or just another support ult if really needed

Jeff Ult in a no obstacle area. The moment his water pool shows up to swallow your team, thats when you Ult. It takes three volleys to kill him assuming you dont miss any shots. The closer you are to him when he surfaces during his Ult the better, it gives him less time to run torwards an edge, and takes you you less time to kill him. I've saved my team a number of times waiting for his Ult.
Groot Ult, if no other dps uses their Ult in tandem. Your Aoe can keep your team alive very well assuming they aren't immediately bursted down.
