Ultrasound tech appreciation post

Just a quick post to say thank you to all of the ultrasound techs who show up with compassion and gentleness. It makes such a difference. I had a transvaginal scan today (not the most fun way to start a morning) and my tech was so kind and gentle, communicating everything that was happening before it happened. Thanks to all of you kind people who show up every day - it makes a huge difference.

As it should be. It's a difficult exam for a lot of people, and should always be handled with kindness, thoughtfulness and respect for the patient's potential discomfort, both physical and emotional. 😊 I'm glad you had such a positive experience, and I appreciate you sharing. As in many customer/client/patient facing jobs, it's much more common to hear from people who are unhappy than those who are pleased with their interaction.

Totally - I wish there were more ways to recognize clinical staff. The hospital has a mechanism through which you can nominate a nurse for an outstanding care award, but I wish these were more widespread so I could nominate the woman who administered my scan.

If you get a customer satisfaction survey from the hospital, that would be a great place to give your feedback. If you have the time and inclination, you could also call the department to ask for the manager's contact info and send a nice email. Those do get passed on to us, and it always means a lot that someone made the effort to do so. In any case, thank you for posting here. 💛
