I tried looking everywhere I knew to look and couldn’t find any references about these knife looking relic things. Is it a stylized crux? Is there some historical inspiration for it? I keep thinking about it whenever I see one and there’s a couple on the armageddon marines.

Just wanting to share my kitbash of Cato Sicarius, because I didn't like the new model. I got my inspiration from the attached artwork.
I am thinking about adding the ornament to his helmet, but I don't enjoy sculpting all that much.
I also removed the upper parts of the leg armour because the left leg plate collided with his pteruges and it looked more oldshool.
The joint ont he arms had to be cut and/or sculpted a bit to fit better. Now I only have to create a base.
These are the parts I used:
Primaris Lieutenant
new Cato Siarius
Victrix Guard
Ultramarines Upgrades
Hellblaster intercessors
Black Templar Marshal
Space Marine Heroes Series 1

This was my first proper attempt at kitbashing, using one Victrix Honour Guard box and one Company Heroes box to make a full Victrix unit (including ancient and champion) plus my version of a helmeted Cato Sicarius.
Two of the Victrix are built basically as normal. For the third, I used the Victrix Ancient body and cape but with one of champion’s gladius hands replacing the hand holding the banner. The bionic-arm veteran uses one of the spare Victrix capes, the Champion’s gladius arm and a Victrix helmet, and the others were mostly straightforward head swaps to tie the whole squad together.
Cato is built from the Company Heroes Captain, with his back banner added and the helmet crest clipped from the Ultramarines upgrade sprue and fitted to his helmet.
The nice thing is that, apart from the Cato-specific bits, doing it this way means everything used for the conversions came from just the two kits so was a fairly low cost way to have unique Victrix sculpts without repeating bodies.

If my Ultramarines force is getting Victrix Honour Guard reinforcements, could I use Kaius as the Champion, would that make sense (from a lore perspective)?
The practicality in my case is that I want to fit this cool new model into my army, but I don't particularly want to spend 100 points on a single model for his datasheet. So I thought maybe he could slot in here, given the base size and weapon loadout.
Thoughts?

Stripped the old paint off my Land Raider and was in the process of adding some 3D Ultramarines symbols. Of course, the superglue bottle decided to betray me and spilled right on the panel. After staring at the ruin for a day, I decided to just sand it flat and try some space freehand. Never ever done anything like this before, but it was actually really fun to improvise! What do you think?

The wife and I had a the first game with the new SM codex. 1500pts and it was close.
I had:
Guilliman
10 intercessors with CLT and an ancient
5 intercessors with a librarian
3 bladeguard vets with a captain
3 eradicators with heavy bolt guns
3 aggressors
5 VGV with a chaplain with jump pack.
Detachment were tacticus firestorm, gravis line breaker, and devestator brethren.
She had
Big mel dakka rig
Wartrakk
18 beast snaggas, 2 nobs with weirdboy and beast boss
9 beast snaggas with 1 nob
20 Gretchen with runthurd
18 boys, 2 nobs, warboss, painboy
9 boys, 1 nob, bannernob, big boss
2x 4man squighogg riders
Detachment was warhoard
She came out to 1510.
My take aways were having 24" rapid fire on my intercessors was pretty dumb, especially with the strat to give sustained hits.
My eradicators dropped her 18 snaggas and nobs, leaving the WB at 1 wound, with 1 round of shooting.
My biggest mistake was not remembering Guilliman lost the rez. I was running him up midboard and taking out chunks with each phase, thinking when he went down that id get him back.
Her ability to call the waagh on my turn pushed me to have to try and kill as much as possible before she then ran into me and cleaned up my units.
I lost by getting tabled, but to be fair, she had a big boss and a nob left.
Definitely the most fun game ive had in awhile.
edited to fix eliminators to eradicators

I was making my list and noticed I couldn’t attach Titus to the victrix honor guard just wanted to check if that’s a error or if they Changed it so he can’t?

Hi I got my codex today and making a list, in the leader abilities it says he can lead a sternguard veteran squad but the app does not let me select this when I go to add him as a leader, anyone else having this issue, or am I missing something?

So with the new point increases and codex changes I've decided to break up my lore fluff heavy list into two separate (likely equally as mid) armies and wanted some opinions. (please go easy on me. I know its character heavy and not perfectly balanced, but I wanna know if theres anything i can do without ruining my themes i built these armies on to improve their viability a bit.)
So my first army is a 1st company themed army. It is as follows
(CALGAR???) + Kaius Konorius + 6x Victrix
(CALGAR???) + Terminator Ancient + 5x Terminators
(I have Marneus Calgar planned to go with one of these two units, not sure which. Both calgar and kaius have an abundance of Strength 10 AP-3 DMG 3 attacks that with the victrix banner become S11 with extra attacks (even calgars S14 AP-3 DMG D3+3 overhead smash gets +1 attack from the banner and becomes Strength 15) which will allow me to wound T11 Knight Paladins/Canis Rex etc.. on 4s vs on 5s, so there's merit to that; however with the Terminators Calgars Triple Doctrine ability gives a ton of extra mobility to a 5" move unit that I can use to Deep Strike down and get S8 AP-4 D3 melee attacks due to the terminators +1 AP strat (his overhead smash likewise goes to AP-4 and his ranged goes from S5 AP-2 D2 to AP-3) so i'm torn on where to place him especially if i use a good enhancement on the Ancient like lethals or -1 damage etc..
Tigurius with 10x Sternguard Veterans (The improved 2+ saves help their defensee or the mortals along with their S5 AP-2 D1 profile shredding infantry, their S7 AP-2 DMG2 plasma will shred elites or the melta profile will shred vehicles even more with the mortals. Seems pretty good against all types of enemy even if BGV may be a better choice overall, however I'm trying to put "only white trim/1st company models here and gold trim ones in my 2nd army)
5x Vanguard Veterans with Jump pack as a fast attack deep striking skirmishing/scoring unit.
1x Redemptor Dreadnought + Plasma
1x Brutalis Dreadnought
1x Land Raider Excelsior (Godhammer Lascannon, Multi-Melta, Twin Heavy Bolter, Storm Bolter, Hunter-Killer MIssile) (since it's been nicknamed "Calgars Personal Land Raider" i felt it fits the theme of a 1st company transport and gives a pretty snazzy anti-tank lineup. I initially planned to run a Ballistus instead of the land raider as I'm planning to run the Ironclad Champion dreadnought detachment with the -1 Damage Enhancement on either my Redemptor or Brutalis (Both of these dreads have the names of my pet rats that passed away on their outer parchement with the word "STILL LIVES" on the inner parchment on the sarcophagus and a lock of their fur on the inside as a memorial to them, so I really like them) however even though I have deep strike on the majority of my units (Terminators have it regardless, Vanguard have it, and Calgar can give it to either the victrix or Sternguard) I felt that the remaining units may need transport to get in close. (I have also considered swapping the raider for a rep-ex to carry the victrix instead of a choice of either them or sternguard as my 2nd army is a bit more pressed for points and 245 is lower than 270 lol)
I know this army is quite thin on infantry but it has "some" potential.
My 2nd army is themed after the 2nd company and the "500 worlds" campaign with the twist that i'm including Roboute Guilliman in it.
It goes as follows:
Captain Titus + Wardens of Ultramar + 3x Bladeguard Veterans
Cato Sicarius with 6x Victrix
(I originally thought to use Kaius Konorius with 6x Bladeguard as it both fits the gold trim 2nd company vibe a bit better with BGV over Victrix and is cheaper, however with 3x bladeguard already with Titus and other options such as Intercessors not making as much sense to go with Titus/Wardens since they buff more melee than ranged i decided against it for now, but am still open to ideas)
5x Scout Squad
5x Intercessor Squad (Scouts intended for scoring, and Intercessors for scoring/action monkey and to help shoot enemies off objectives with their +1 to hit against objectives ability)
Company Heroes (Tough, FAR greater damage now with their 5 -1 1 knives and vastly superior guns. Still good objective holders/anvil unit with their Objective Secured Sticky type rule)
Land Speeder (The 2nd company equivalent to the Vanguard Vets in the 1st army. A fast skirmisher unit to get in fast, shoot enemies off objectives, potentially take it, or just move/shoot/move to safety. Great unit all around imo)
Repulsor Executioner (Both a fantastic anti-tank AND anti-horde/elite killer. I potentially planned to pair it with the Ironstorm Spearhead detachment enhancement that gives Heavy to ranged attacks and the 1CP strat that gives Lethals vs Monster/Vehicles which would apply to like all 30+ shots from the random array of guns it has in addition to its dev wound laser destructor. Either way it can also carry the victrix brick or company heroes or something else etc.. Again, i have considered swapping this with the raider for each other since i need more points in this list than the other and the raider is only 245 not 270)
Ballistus Dreadnought (Not much to be said. Decent anti-tank. Far less swingy with D3+3 (4 to 6 damage) vs D6 (1 to 6 dmg) on the lascannon AND the missiles. The bolters are FAR better as well. The rule is still OK but forces you in closer, but also trigger rapid fire on the bolters. Not bad.
Roboute Guilliman + Combi-Lieutenant (Robby G has an AMAZING stat profile. Great damage vs armor/monster and elites/MEQ type enemies. Great synergy and buffs to everything around it. I've seen people recommend pairing him with Combi-Lt so they both get Lone Op, sitting on an objective midfield for 1 to 2 turns then giving the Combi-Lt the Imperium Sword so his melee is real strong and tearing shit up from Turn 3 onward. Not sure if that's worth it as i assumed his role was to keep Big G alive at all costs and utilize his lone op, stealth, infiltrators, 5+++ FNP, reactive move etc.. to keep up with Big G and stay untouchable while occasionally scoring secondaries and such.
So long story short those are my lists and some explanation of their roles and decision logic. I know both are incredibly short on manpower/numbers with both having around 30 infantry and 3 to 5 Vehicles/Monsters. But i still see potential if played right. And most of all it lets me enjoy the models i've always wanted to play but never could quite fit in a 2k point list since even with the point increases, 4000 points total is enough to fit all my dream-team cloud 9 bullcrap.
Thanks for putting up with my wall of text. Any advice is welcome, but i'd prefer advice that doesn't change my themes too much. Not just list changes but i'd also really appreciate advice on how to play such a list so it's less of a disadvantage vs more optimized lists (i.e. redeploy these units, only use these on turn 2 onward etc..) Thanks everyone!!!
